The money

SEIU Local 1021 and SEIU Local 2015 gave $50,000 each to Tax Foreclosures, Yes on J. The firefighters' Yes on A committee is the largest consultant client of the cycle at about $1 million. Stand Up For SF, sponsored by labor, has paid $197,000 to consultants for Yes on D.

The people

In the supervisor races, labor-sponsored independent committees spent about $97,000 around Natalie Gee (District 4) and about $104,000 around Gary McCoy (District 8) in the newest filings alone.

What to ask

Ask each committee's Form 460 for who funds it beyond the sponsoring union, and ask the candidates what they have promised in return, on the record.
