Who's pitching the pension fund

For every city worker and retiree whose pension the Retirement System holds.

The money

About 70 of the 313 reported contacts counted this summer went to Retirement System staff, the most of any department. D. E. Shaw led with about 30 (Letitia Yang, Sruthi Boddu), then FAP USA (about 10), Tudor Investment (8), QMS Capital, Pacific Alliance, and Tayeh Capital.

The people

The officials contacted most, citywide, were Han Pham (about 14), Kien Trinh (10), David Francl (9), and Eunice McHugh (7), all at the Retirement System. None of them appear on the unfiled list.

What to ask

Ask the Retirement Board which of these managers were allocated money in 2026 and how their fees compare with the funds that did not lobby.
