For anyone who wants to know who has an official's ear for a week.

The money

The Jewish Community Relations Council and its Doug Kahn fund paid $30,240 for three Israel study trips (Mandelman 2022, Breed 2023, Stefani 2019). The Aspen Institute covered $23,657 across four trips. The SF Special Events Committee paid $18,793 for Mayor Breed's April 2024 trip to five Chinese cities.

The people

Mayor Breed accounts for $68,302 of the $146,480 on file; Treasurer Cisneros took the most trips, 18, mostly small conference travel that was often reimbursed.

What to ask

Ask who funds the Special Events Committee and the Doug Kahn fund; the travel record names the payer, not the payer's donors.
